QQ Agora Network installs AI on a machine in your own office, so staff can search, summarise and draft from confidential files without anything leaving the building. It can run fully offline. When cloud AI is not the right answer
Most companies are fine on business cloud AI plans, which do not train on your data by default. You need private AI when the data itself cannot leave, either by law, by client contract, or because it is the crown jewels of the business.

Hardware is bought in your company's name, so you own the asset and the warranty. Memory and GPU prices have been unstable through 2026, so hardware quotes are valid for 7 days. Equipment like this may qualify for capital allowances — check with your tax agent.
Private AI and the PDPA
Malaysia's Personal Data Protection Act was amended in 2024, with the main changes in force through 2025. Three of them decide how companies should handle AI.

Be realistic about payback. On hours saved alone, private AI typically pays back over 18–24 months, slower than a cloud workflow project. Firms buy it for confidentiality, client contracts and regulatory exposure, with the time savings on top. If you only want the time savings, start with a Sprint instead.

What is private AI, in plain terms?
An AI model that runs on a computer you own, sitting in your office. Documents and questions never leave the building, and it keeps working when the internet is down. It is the same idea as keeping your accounting server in-house instead of on someone else's cloud.
Is it as good as ChatGPT or Claude?
For summarising, searching and drafting from your own documents, open models are now good enough for daily work. For the hardest reasoning and the newest features, the big cloud models are still ahead. Most firms end up using both: private AI for confidential files, business cloud AI for general work.
What hardware do we need, and who buys it?
For a small team, a dedicated AI mini-computer in the RM24,000-RM36,000 range handles document search and drafting. For 20 or more people using it at once, a GPU workstation is needed and we quote per case. You buy the hardware in your company's name so you own the asset; we never mark up and hold stock. Does this satisfy the PDPA?
Keeping personal data inside your office avoids the cross-border transfer question entirely, which is the hardest part of the 2025 amendments to live with. You still need the rest: a data protection officer where required, a breach process within 72 hours, and staff rules. How long does setup take?
About four to six weeks: one week to size and order hardware, two weeks to install, load your documents and test answers against real questions, then training and a supervised run before handover.
What does it cost to run?
Electricity and an AI Care plan from RM2,000 a month. There are no per-user or per-question fees, which is why private AI becomes cheaper than per-seat cloud AI once a large team uses it daily.
